God Will Finish What He Started “I am confident of this: that the One who has begun his good work in you will go on developing it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6, JB Phillips).
It’s easy to become discouraged especially when our self-imposed expectations have not been met in the allotted time we have set. But this scripture gives us an assured hope that God will indeed finish the work he has begun. He has made you unique and in His wisdom He knows what needs to be done and when.
Your life is no surprise to God, He saw you in eternity and knows the great work He has for you. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Don’t give up on the restoration God is doing in your life, by faith know He is working. The work He has begun in you is like a seed planted and it will take time to grow. It may at times feel like nothing is happening, but deep within just like a seed planted in the soil much is taking place unseen.
Trust that God will finish what He started in you, so that you may accomplish the great work He has planned and purposed for your life
