“I will love You, O LORD, my strength.  The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies” (Psalms 18:1-3, NKJV).

Have you had times in your life when you did not know where to go or where to turn for help? David in this psalm tells us that we can call upon the Lord and find safety and security in Him as he did.  He sings of God’s limitless protection and how it can take on many forms.

David saw Him as our rock that could not be move by any who seek to harm us.  As a fortress or a place of safety so fortified that our enemies cannot enter. As a shield, which protects us from the onslaught of fiery darts the enemy throws our way.  As a horn of salvation, a symbol of power and might that combats the enemy of our soul.  As a stronghold that places us high above our circumstance.
