God Knows You

"For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother's womb. I will confess and praise You for you are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery]. Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them" (Psalms 139:13-16).

Have you ever had an occasion to wonder whether or not God knew who you were or that you even existed? I know I have, there were times when life seem so miserable and the pain so unbearable that I felt non-existent, even to God.

Oh, but what joy it is to read in this psalm that this is not true. God not only knows who we are, but has known us since before we were born. He knew about our character, personalities, our gifting and talents, our joys as well as our pains long before we came to be. Nothing has took place or will take place in our lives that He is not fully aware of and has purposed and planned for. He has the power to take the most negative situations and turn them into positive realities.

Understand there is not a crisis that can take place in your life that goes beyond the bounds of God's creative power. Completely surrender your life to God and open your wounded inward parts to Him. As only the creator can, He will take the painful parts and knit them into something strong and beautiful revealing their role in the intricate plan and purpose he has for your life.
